1. First thing we will need are some shiny pennies.
2. Then we will dissolve sodium hydroxide pellets in water to make a really strong solution.
3. After dissolving sodium hydroxide in the water we can add zinc powder and that is going to coat the outside of our pennies.
4. After that, we need a hot plate with our pennies in the solution of sodium hydroxide and zinc powder. It takes only 15 to 30 minutes for the pennies to be covered in zinc
5. Now we put the penny in the sodium hydroxide and zinc solution.
6. After a little while, the copper color is no longer visible which turns into zinc color.
7. When we apply heat that layer of zinc is going to melt with copper beneath and we are going to end up with brass.
8. Brass does not corrode like zinc. That means we are going to have our gold penny. If it to hot then pressure washerify with water.
